FOSS is an active group of parent volunteers who organise lots of fun events for the children, parents and guardians of Streatley School throughout the year. Our main purpose is to have fun and raise money for the school.
The FOSS committee meet to organise anything from the annual school fete to pancake races for children and parents (we can’t let the children have all the fun). With a few discos, film nights, pocket-money shopping sessions, quiz nights and big socials for the grown-ups we make sure that there are lots of things going on for children and parents throughout the year.
We’re an open friendly bunch and welcome to all, so please do come and join us to create great memories of school life.
Money raised by FOSS is intended to provide ‘extras’ not already met by the school budget – often fun things that add to the provision already in place and make learning more interesting and exciting. Past purchases have included computers and playground equipment.
There are many different ways you can help FOSS, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. If you cannot commit to a big job, look out for things you can do less frequently (e.g. running a stall at the summer fete, baking for a cake sale, etc). Plus you can always support FOSS events by simply turning up.
Please visit the website on a regular basis for information about events that FOSS is planning. Please do contact us by email or talk to us.
You can contact the current Chair, Imogen Smart by using the contact form below. Our Treasurer is Polly Waite, and the 2012/13 Committee members are Ros Arthur, Jo Beaven, Linda Bowen, Liz Cox, Mirjam Helmschrott-Bowden, Louise Jones, Gilly Miners, Olivia Morris, and Louise Schilizzi. We always welcome new members coming on board throughout the year, please talk to any one of us if you are interested.
