Streatley C of E (VC) Primary School –  Clerk to Governors

We are looking to appoint an experienced Clerk to our Governors.   We require a well-organised, reliable and competent who will  fulfil the role and duties of Clerk to the School Governors through liaison with the Chair of Governors, the Headteacher, Governing Body, School Staff and the Local Authority.

This will include:

Complying with all the statutory duties of the role.
Effective administration of Governor Meetings.
Support the continuing development of the governing body.
Undertake professional development.

The Clerk is required to attend all statutory meetings of the Governing Body and additional meetings, including committee meetings as and when required (dates and timings are agreed in advance).  The Clerk will also be required to prepare and distribute agendas and minutes, deal with all correspondence and maintain records, and have knowledge of School Government Regulations.

Applicants must:

  • Be able to maintain confidentiality;
  • Have the ability to take minutes and be computer literate;
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.

West Berkshire Pay Scale: E, Spinal Point 18 -22 (£9.39 – £10.74 ph) depending on experience. Post will be for approx. 60 hours per year to be worked flexibly to fit in with the cycle of governing body business during the year.
