Covid advice - What to do.

Can my child come to school?

If your child is displaying symptoms of coronavirus, please DO NOT send them into school. Temperature, cough or loss of smell/taste are the main 3. Please arrange a PCR test - see below for links and advice.

If you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19

From 16 August, if you are fully vaccinated or aged under 18 years and 6 months, you will not be required to self-isolate if you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19. If you have not been vaccinated or have only received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, you will still be required to self-isolate for 10 days.

Should my primary aged child have a Covid-19 test?

If your child has any Covid-19 symptoms, you should book a PCR test.  It must not be a LFD test completed at home as these are not designed for symptomatic cases.

Click here for the government PCR test booking page or call 119.

Your child will not need a PCR test if they do not have symptoms unless they are identified as a close contact of a positive case.

Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test

These are tests to be used by anyone with symptoms or anyone without symptoms who has received a positive LFD test result.

These tests should be taken as soon as symptoms start.

These tests can be booked online (see above) or by phoning 119.

Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Test

These tests are to be taken at home and are only for those without symptoms. Do not use if your child has a cough, temperature

They are to detect asymptomatic cases.

If you or your child are displaying any symptoms of Covid you need to book a PCR test as above.
