World Book Day - Streatley celebrates

This year we are celebrating World Book Day a week later than the advertised date to hopefully make it less pressured and expensive. 

The children can bring in their favourite book, their newest book or, they can dress up. No pressure to have an outfit. We would rather the money went on a new book than a new costume. We'll have time to read during the day.

Outfits should be appropriate for school ie not revealing and not prevent your child taking part in the school day.

Can I dress up as a movie character who doesn't have a book? No.

Can I wear sports kit, e.g. my football team? No

Can I wear any costume? No.

Can I just bring a book I like from home? Yes

Can I wear make up? No

World Book Day is a celebration of books and reading, not movies.

We do not encourage staff and definitely not children to wear adverts for companies or slogans. Football kits are home wear.

We wear costumes linked to the book you bring in.

Books from home can be one you like, return to often or a favourite from when you were small.
