Collective Worship Team

The “Collective Worship Team” was founded in 2018. Our main purpose is to be ambassadors for our Collective Worship and to help lead worship times in assemblies and our church services throughout the year. The team is led by Mrs Williams.

The Collective Worship Team 2025:
Year 3 Teddy
Year 4 Mason
Year 5 Matilda
Year 6 Alice

Present day:
The team have enjoyed getting more involved in our collective worship assemblies, often helping with Bible readings, prayers, drama and many creative games and activities. The older members of our team also lead our technical support and the setting up of the hall for assembly. They are a very enthusiastic team and great ambassadors for our collective worship throughout the year.

Key moments over the years
  • We were delighted to have Ben Philips come and join us to explore the Christian roots of our school vision. Ben explained about how widely the image of a tree is used in the Bible.
  • Our Prayer wall has seen displays on the themes of remembrance, advent, Lent and Crosses around the World.
  • We looked at the features of Collective Worship at our school and spent time monitoring the assemblies to get an idea of what was being covered in each one across the week.
  • KS2 joined Ben at the War Memorial for a short service for Remembrance Day.
  • Our team members regularly represent our school in our church services with their contributions of prayers and Bible Readings.
  • We put together a Bible story bag, including many of our favourite bible stories. They were outside each lunchtime for those who wanted to enjoy a good read.
  • We have put interactive displays on our Prayer wall in the hall to mark key moments in the church year.
  • Common features that our assemblies should aim to include were identified and shared with the school community. For example the use of a candles, liturgy, songs, Bible readings and prayers.
  • Our thoughts contributed to the school discussion of developing a definition of spirituality for our school. Not an easy thing to do! We looked at how the images of the window, mirror and door can help us to articulate our reflections and thoughts better.
